SPF lookup counter

SPF allows at most 10 DNS lookups. Every include, a, mx, exists and redirect counts, including the ones nested inside your email tools' own records. Go over the limit and SPF fails for every message.

Why it breaks

Microsoft 365, a CRM, a newsletter tool and a help desk can use eight or more lookups between them. Each new tool someone adds pushes the record closer to the limit, and nothing warns you when it passes 10.
